Ingredients

  • 1 lb firm fish fillets (like tuna or mackerel), cut into pieces
  • 2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 2 tsp tamarind paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • Salt to taste

Steps

  1. Marinate fish pieces with turmeric, chili powder, black pepper, and salt for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat. Add fenugreek seeds and garlic; sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add curry powder and tamarind paste, stir well.
  4. Add fish pieces and gently coat with the spice mixture.
  5. Cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally, until fish is cooked and the sauce is almost dry.
  6. Serve hot with steamed rice.
